hubble-telescopeAfter 2 decades of observation, the Hubble Space Telescope has captured some truly amazing images. Unfortunately, many of those have never been seen outside of academic circles. Do you feel up to the challenge to change that?

From now until May 31, dig through Hubble's achives to see what the public's been missing. Enter the Hubble's Hidden Treasure 2012 contest for a chance to win an ipod touch and various other prizes. Take a look at the gallery so far to view the competition.

Feeling especially ambitious? Enter the Hubble's Hidden Treasures 2012 Image Processing Contest for a shot to win an ipad and other items. Take a look at the gallery to see some of what's been posted.

Plus, don't forget the Hubble is nearing retirement. Meet its replacement and see the next step in deep space exploration, the James Webb Space Telescope.

Hubble's Hidden Treasures is organized by ESA/Hubble, the education and public outreach office for the Hubble Space Telescope in Europe with participation from the Space Telescope Science Institute.

ESA/Hubble is run by the European Southern Observatory on behalf of the European Space Agency.

The Space Telescope Science Institute is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy on behalf of NASA.
