Large scale coordinate measuring machines now even more accurate and capable
North Kingstown RI – September 13, 2010 – Hexagon Metrology announced the US release of improved DEA DELTA SLANT gantry coordinate measuring machines at the IMTS 2010 show in Chicago. The enormous measuring range of these coordinate measuring machines make them perfect for quality control of large-scale mass-produced components in the automobile industry, air transport, aerospace, heavy goods transport, wind energy infrastructure and satellite communications systems.
The new DEA DELTA SLANT features a range of improvements for greater speed, accuracy and convenience. New components, system tuning and materials such as a Z-axis sleeve manufactured from stiff, lightweight, silicon carbide contribute to the overall improvement in performance. All available sizes in the Classic and Performance model ranges achieve better ISO first and second term accuracies, and higher 3D speed and acceleration than before, for quicker and more accurate results in demanding production environments.
A new multi-sensor structural temperature compensation system is now standard. The DELTA SLANT configuration for workshop duties (SF Kit, Shop Floor) include thermally insulated covers and forced-air circulation.
DELTA SLANT coordinate measuring machines now also support the full range of highly accurate Leitz analog scanning sensors – including the latest LSP-X1 sensor. In combination with the TESASTAR-m indexing measurement head, the LSP-X1 provides a scanning system with the highest flexibility and accuracy at an impressive price.
