New Leitz Reference Xi introduced to North America at IMTS 2010

North Kingstown, RI – September 13, 2010 – Hexagon Metrology, Inc. introduced the new Leitz Reference Xi to the North America market at IMTS 2010, booth E-5115. The Leitz Reference Xi is a high-accuracy coordinate measuring machine derived from the popular Leitz Reference bridge CMM. The Reference Xi incorporates the value-added benefits of the Leitz B4s controller with proprietary firmware and advanced Leitz LSP-X family of scanning probes. The seamless integration of Leitz core technology with a quality manufactured Tricision bridge frame assembled, tested and calibrated in Hexagon Metrology's state of the art facility in Rhode Island provides the highest performance-to-price ratio for a coordinate measuring system in North America.

The key benefits of the Leitz Reference Xi include high performance scanning algorithms, measurement with long stylus extensions utilizing LSP probe heads, and simultaneous 4-axis measurement capability with optional Leitz rotary tables. A Leitz rotary table can be fitted either internally or externally to the granite work surface, and moved to different work areas and orientations as demanded by the application. Leitz also provides a complete assortment of styli accessories to meet the most challenging applications with complex features in the most unusual orientations.
